Day 649 [July 13/10 JST] -- Weakening winds

Today's Report
July 13/10 0800 JST

Position:  20°53'N, 161°25'W

Remaining distance to Yokohama finish:  12.6%

All continues well, under gradually weakening winds, during the 24-hr period that saw a DOG of 105 nm and DMG of 103 nm. He's now 197 nm from Honolulu.

Skies are partly cloudy with no squalls since yesterday. Winds were favorable from the ENE at a weakish 7-10 kts on 1.5 m seas. He continues on a starboard tack since yesterday, under full genoa.

He motored for about 3 hours yesterday when winds eased to less than required to keep the headsail full. At that time he rolled the genoa and inspected it, noting that there is a little damage ("not much") along its lower edge. By this morning he had returned it to 100% open when winds became more favorable from the ENE.
