DMG (distance made good) is measured in nautical miles from his morning position to the next waypoint, which currently is set just below the Big Island of Hawaii.
Google Earth has been found to be quite accurate for these calculations, as well as for setting waypoints to within degrees and minutes of latitude and longitude.
Meanwhile, current direction and speed is taken from ClearPoint Weather, and has been consistently confirmed by Saito-san as judged from his own observations.
